There is a small group of conspiracists on social media who believe they know how the Lindsay Buziak homicide investigation should be run even though they have no experience in homicide investigations. They fabricate information, intentionally mislead the public with misleading information and participate in the character assassination of innocent people, including the investigators working on the case. We all want the same goal and that is justice for Lindsay. Attacking innocent people armed with fabricated information about them is not going to help Lindsay’s case.
Since one of the conspiracists mentioned this website in one of their fabricated posts I will address the truth here. There were a few of us who were involved in supporting another website and decided to part ways for a number of reasons. This was seen as a HUGE betrayal in the eyes of the conspiracists much like a cult leader would feel if one of their disciples left the group. The conspiracists are now attempting to mislead their unsuspecting new followers into believing a few of us left quite abruptly, to start our own website that they allege, is solely dedicated to defending the SPD and the Zailos (they failed to mention a few of us truly believe in the guilt of the Del group and not the Zailos. I have personally believed for a very long time that the Del group are responsible for Lindsay’s murder. There are many reasons, including moral reasons why a few of us discontinued to support the other website. That is our right and no one should face repercussions for making what they believe was the right decision.) The conspiracists fabricated a story claiming that the few of us who stopped supporting them did so because we were threatened by the SP and are acting out of fear. Funny enough, they made the same claims against Lindsay’s friends who refused to participate in TV shows, podcasts and other interviews.
At NO TIME was any of us ever threatened by the Saanich Police but, some of us have been threatened by some of the conspiracists. The conspiracists have no credibility and that is apparent when you read their comments and false accusations on social media. The conspiracists have even tried to get a few websites on social media shut down because these sites don’t support the Zailo conspiracy theory. The conspiracists believe they yield the power to criticize others and fabricate stories in an attempt to discredit the more accurate information being shared on social media about Lindsay’s case. They work tirelessly on fabricating stories to try and shut down anyone who disagrees with their sinister behavior. If you read their websites, FaceBook pages, and multiple other public forums they participate in all they do is vilify and threaten people who do not follow their way of thinking. Imagine believing they have the authority to tell others what they can talk about on social media. If you don’t agree with their theories they attack your credibility and fabricate false stories about your character. That is just morally unacceptable.
I personally have always supported the Saanich Police and believe they will solve the murder of Lindsay Buziak. It is my belief if people find certain social media websites to be negative, offensive, malicious, or inaccurate they have the right to discontinue their support of those sites. The majority of social media users believe in the “freedom of speech” and like to express their own ideas, opinions, and be able to present as much factual information as possible, without being censored. For those that choose to INTENTIONALLY fabricate stories, engage in character assassination of innocent people, intentionally mislead viewers with false information, and attempt to discredit the Saanich Police, and others, that is behaviour I do not wish to be part of. If people choose to believe in the innocence of the Zailo’s that is their right too.
Some of the conspiracists have tried to promote the theory that Lindsay’s murder was the work of the Zailo’s and that the local police are involved in a cover-up. They have made other ridiculous claims that a police officer directed the killers in how to carry out the murder. They intentionally fabricate information in an attempt to make their theory sound credible. Since the Saanich Police have first-hand knowledge of the case and the conspiracists do not, I believe what the Saanich Police have shared publicly. I do not believe the SP is misleading the public with ALL of the information they have shared publicly. I do believe the conspiracists have intentionally misled viewers to believe the Zailos are guilty by fabricating information about them.(drug trafficking business, money laundering, associations to high-level drug dealers, etc) It is easy to fabricate a story to make a theory sound more believable. They have never produced any supporting evidence to back up their ridiculous claims.
The conspiracists add a new spin on the murder narrative on a weekly basis. (they will likely continue to fabricate more stories to meet their personal agenda) The conspiracists want you to believe the Zailo’s conspired to murder Lindsay based on fabricated information to deflect attention away from the prime suspects who the investigators have been focusing on since Lindsay was murdered. I respect other theories and opinions but to intentionally fabricate information to make a theory sound more credible without any consideration of how that will impact the lives of innocent people is morally unacceptable. The conspiracists know the Del group was involved in the largest drug bust in Alberta history. They know Lindsay’s best friend RG was Vids girlfriend and that Vid was part of that group. They know about Vid and Erickson’s history of violence against women. They know RG was employed at the same re/max office as Lindsay and the dateline experts said someone very close to Lindsay planned her murder. They know RG was aware of the VACANT HOME on Desousa because part of her job description was to input data into the computer. They know RG pointed her finger at the Zailo’s and accused them of murdering Lindsay yet she could never explain to anyone why she thought it was the Zailo’s. (The conspiracists claim that the Zailos had a criminal relationship with RG and the del group but that makes no sense because RG would not have gone to the police in 2008 to lay the blame on the Zailo’s if they were working together). They know RG’s boyfriend(ex) was also lured to a home and attacked from behind and murdered in 2001.(similar set-up to how Lindsay was murdered) His body was found on the same month and day Lindsay was murdered(Feb 2). They know the del group lost millions and millions in revenue and they know the Del’s know that someone talked to the police which is why Erickson/Graham was busted. They know Lindsay associated with some very bad people according to what the SP said on Dateline and we can only assume who the police were referring to. They know the del group have never cooperated with the police like the Zailo’s did. They know the police have been investigating the Calgary drug bust angle for years and that Jason was cleared in 2009 BEFORE DATELINE and again in 2010 AFTER DATELINE. Huge motive but since it doesn’t fit with their conspiracy theory they want to try and silence other websites and people who talk about the Calgary angle or who share more credible information surrounding the timeline. They do not want this information on social media. They want the focus solely on the Zailos or they will attempt to morph BOTH groups together. What they will likely do is claim the Zailo’s were working with the Del group and they will spin it even more by claiming Jason was the snitch and got Lindsay murdered. They will fabricate a story that Jason was a big steroid dealer and his Mom a money launderer. The Zailo’s were not associated with the Del group at all. There is no evidence that Shirley and her family were involved in the drug trafficking business or money laundering business. Anyone can fabricate a story about someone on social media but none of them can show you any evidence. The truth is, the conspiracists can’t let go of the Zailo’s so they morph their theory into the more credible theories that are based on supporting evidence and facts. They even change the timeline that was provided by the investigators so it matches with their Zailo theory.
The conspiracists are also constantly mocking the Saanich Police because they requested public assistance in Lindsay’s case. All police departments follow the same procedures. The SP is not asking the public to SOLVE the case they are simply asking people to step forward who they know have key information about Lindsay’s murder. The conspiracists just don’t understand police procedures. There was a recent article in the newspaper about another unsolved homicide case. The investigators with the RCMP’s Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit has also asked for the public’s assistance in ONE of their UNSOLVED homicides. The reality is, it’s standard procedure for police agencies to ask for the public’s assistance.
The conspiracists are also constantly ranting about the SPD clearing the Zailo’s and how that should never have happened. They rant about other individuals who have not been publicly cleared like the Zailo’s were. They are of the belief that no one should be cleared until arrests are made but that is simply not the case in criminal investigations. Not everyone is a suspect. I have included an excerpt from a recent article on the “Carmen Robinson” case which recently received a fresh lead. In the article, the police clearly state that over the years they CLEARED multiple people. No arrests have been made and the case remains open. I am sure the same can be said for the Lindsay Buziak case. From my understanding, the only reason the SPD publicly cleared the Zailo’s was because of all the finger-pointing generated after Dateline aired. Normally events like that aren’t so public.
Note: Many years ago I too believed a lot of the misleading information, rumours and fabricated information about the Zailo’s and formed an opinion and multiple theories based on that information. I was certainly gullible at that time and put too much trust in sources I believed were credible. I began to have my doubts about the information pertaining to the Zailos specifically. Most of the information did not make any sense so I began to do more thorough research and discovered most of what I believed to be true was actually false. I also believed the Delalcazar’s were the primary suspects but I allowed myself to be easily swayed to focus on the Zailo trumped up so-called evidence. I made the decision to break away from the group thinking and decided to focus on only the known facts of the case. I relied on the more credible information investigators shared with the public and information from other credible sources rather than the gossip and misleading information on social media. After discovering most of the information on social media had been fabricated and misleading I began to see more clearly that I was wrong in my initial theory about the Zailo family. I do not believe the Zailo’s are involved in Lindsay’s murder. I do not believe any of the gossip or rumours about the Zailo family and none of the more recent fabricated stories about any of the investigators.
Police back on 1973 Carmen Robinson Case:
“Numerous police investigators have worked on the case over the years, clearing family and friends and ruling out any disgruntled ex-boyfriends. But they’ve uncovered virtually no leads, physical evidence or witnesses.”
If the conspiracists really cared about justice they would stop fabricating stories. Clearly, the conspiracists are aware of facts and details shared by the investigators but since they don’t fit with their Zailo conspiracy theory they ignore them. Not only do they continue to fabricate stories about Saanich Police Officers they are also fabricating stories about public citizens in general if these citizens do not fall in line with their theory and agenda.
Here is some advice from an experienced armchair detective, if someone tells you a juicy story about someone the first thing you might want to do is fact check. Ask the person where they received their information. If possible try and check out the source to see if they are even credible.(most of the time the source has a personal vendetta against someone) They have a hidden agenda so be careful. The conspiracists will use any platform they can to attack the people who they believe wronged them and fabricate information about them. Take your average career criminal for example. They dislike the police so they take every opportunity they can to rant about how much they hate the police. Facebook groups, twitter, youtube, etc, etc. Even if someone runs a website about a completely different topic of discussion the criminals will find some way to get on that site and rant about the big bad policeman. Statistics show that the majority of people who do not like the big bad policeman are criminals. They blame the big bad policeman for putting them in jail.
Let’s look at the common sense factor. Most of the conspiracists complain Jason actions at the crime scene don’t make sense to them. That is understandable considering most of the information they put out on social media about the Zailos is false or inaccurate so of course, it doesn’t make any sense! Many factual details about Lindsay’s case have been shared by the Saanich Police in hopes of generating new tips or to quell rumours. What do the conspiracists do with this information? They run the information through the spin cycle and regurgitate it in a different form so it fits their murder narrative. If you can’t keep simple facts straight and intentionally mislead viewers then you are not a very credible person. Simply put, you cannot be trusted.
I think it’s important to keep Lindsay’s case in the public eye and the true details of the case shared rather than the rumours. Everyone wants Justice for Lindsay.
